Sasebo, Japan is just northwest of Kyushu – which is the westernmost island of Japan. Sasebo is known for its two beautiful mountains – Mt.Shokan and Mt. Eboshi both of which are both along the coast. Located just near these mountains and also along the coast is Sasebo Port – which was first opened in 1889 as Japan’s first post war trading port and is home to many tourists. One place that you have to see while visiting is the Kukuku Islands. These Islands were marked as Japan’s westernmost national park that can be found on the sea since 1955. The coastlines are very intricate and have been called one of the greatest and most breathtaking assets of Sasebo.
You can’t leave Sasebo without getting a good souvenir for yourself, friends, and children. The best souvenirs can be found at Sasebo’s arcade. There they have anything that you could think of and could ever want. The best time to stop by the arcade is during January 2nd when their bargain sale – Hatsuuri – begins early in the morning. Around the arcade you can easily stop into one of the coffee houses or eateries and sample some authentic Japanese food. The history of Sasebo’s Mikawachi Pottery goes back almost 400 years and is one of the best places to see some true art and history. The pieces that you can find at Mikawachi are made using the traditional techniques of Sukashibori and Karakoe. You may even get a chance of buying your very own pieces and bring back home a piece of true Japanese culture. When night falls it’s time to make your way over to one of the many Karaoke clubs that Sasebo and all of Japan is famous for. In these clubs you and your friends can purchase your own private room and sing to the music while the waiters will bring you any food or drinks you need.

People all around the city will come to see the tree light up and will get into the Christmas spirit.
Ellis Island is a small island in the New York Harbor that was used as America’s first Federal Immigration station. Beneath the cathedral’s square is Europe’s most important archeological crypts that shouldn’t be missed.
The Louvre museum is something that is not to be missed. It is one of the most famous and greatest museums in the world. The Louvre has some excellent and breathtaking artwork as well as statues. It is exciting and much more inviting than if you were to drive around in your car. PEI even has tours of Avonlea – which was re-built as it was described in the books. There you can take a horse drawn carriage see the infamous schoolhouse in which Miss Maud taught her class. You can also visit the Long River Church that was built in 1882 and view the different variety shows that are rehearsed up for your enjoyment.

Another amazing site that is not to be missed is the Pantheon. In the early 17th century Pope Boniface IV turned added a dome to the structure and turned it into a church. It was first built by Domitian who was ordered by Marcus Agrippa to build it. Later it was rebuilt by Hadrian. Its only source of light is the opening located at the apex of the dome.
